Frequently Asked Questions

Psychedelic therapy is a type of therapy that involves the use of psychedelic substances, such as MDMA or psilocybin, in combination with psychotherapy to treat mental health conditions.

Psychedelic therapy has shown promise in treating a range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and end-of-life anxiety.

Psychedelic therapy involves taking a moderate to high dose of a psychedelic substance in a controlled and supervised setting, while receiving psychotherapy from a trained therapist. The psychedelic experience is thought to help patients access deep-seated emotions and insights, allowing them to process and integrate their experiences in a therapeutic way.

The legality of psychedelic therapy varies depending on the country and jurisdiction. In some places, psychedelic therapy is still illegal and classified as a Schedule I substance. However, some countries and jurisdictions have legalised or decriminalised the use of psychedelics for therapeutic purposes

Psychedelic therapy is generally considered safe when conducted under the supervision of trained medical professionals in a controlled setting. However, there are some risks associated with psychedelic therapy, including the potential for psychological distress or the triggering of underlying mental health conditions.

Psychedelic therapy has been shown to potentially improve mood, decrease anxiety and depression, and improve quality of life. It may also increase empathy, creativity, and promote personal growth and spiritual experiences.

Psychedelic therapy sessions can vary in length, but typically last between six and eight hours. The length of a session can depend on the substance used, the dosage, and the therapeutic goals of the session.

The therapist plays a crucial role in psychedelic therapy, providing support and guidance before, during, and after the session. They help patients prepare for the experience, guide them through the experience itself, and provide support and follow-up care as needed. The therapist also helps patients integrate the insights gained during the psychedelic experience into their daily lives.
